Westfield Defeats Mountainside 11-3 in CJBL Play

Michael Mobarakai and Scott Tupper teamed up on the mound to shutdown Mountainside in a CJBL game.  The duo allowed only 6 hits and 3 runs over 6 innings and each pitcher threw 3 innings in the win.  Chris Boutsikaris made a great play behind Mobarakai in the 1st inning when he made a tremendous stab of a hard grounder to 1st that took a bad hop.  Boutsikaris read the bounce, grabbed the ball and raced to 1st base to record an unassisted out on the hard smash.  Boutsikaris received the Blue Ball defensive award on the play.

Westfield's offense was powered by several bats -- Michael Mobarakai and Brett Robertshaw were both 3 for 3 with 2 runs scored and Chris Varano had 2 hits for the Blue Devils.  Hopper Murray and Liam Heinbokel added doubles to power Westfield rallies and Vin Difilippo connected on a long home run to center field.

Next up for Westfield is Florham Park in a Central Jersey Baseball League match up at 5:45 PM on Friday in Florham Park.
