Westfield Defeats Summit in CJBL Play

Westfield arrived at Long Field for an early morning Central Jersey Baseball League (CJBL) match up against Summit. The Westfield fans who made it to the game were treated to an explosive performance as White’s bats erupted early and often and White’s pitching and defense was solid throughout en route to a 17-0 victory in a mercy rule shortened contest. Eric Varakian (3 innings) and Brett Robertshaw (1 inning) combined on the shutout, limiting Summit to just two hits.

The early morning tranquility in Summit was shattered with loud noises coming from the Westfield bats. White scored 8 runs in the 1st inning, 4 in the 3rd and 5 in the 4th. Chris Boutsikaris and Hopper Murray each had 3 hits while Liam Heinbokel, Eric Varakian, Vincent Difilippo, Devin Anderson and Chris Rinaldi each had 2 hits.
