Let it Rip

We will have many different memories of our time spent in Basking Ridge: heavy rains, beating sun, muggy nights, glorious walk-offs, hard fought wins and some breathtaking near misses. It was only fitting then that the bleacher creatures rose to the occasion tonight with some amazing cheering moments, including cheers with only one chorus, a few fear-inducing ones, a special shout out for BR's third baseman and of course, the roster done in pirate! However, our cheers were equally matched by the pithy gems offered by the opposition as overheard through the third base fence. Herewith a sampling of coachable quotables:

General coaching tips on hitting the ball:
"If you find a ball you like, let it rip"
"If it's a good pitch, rip it"
"Rip the ball"
"Give it a rip"
"Let it rip"

Reminder not to go after bad pitches:
"That one was in your kitchen"

Reminder of why they are at bat:
"Get a walk or hit"

Reminder of what baseball is all about:
"Step up to the plate and just have some fun"

Congrats boys on a remarkable Ridge run! Arrrrrrrrr....
