Fishing Update from Mariano….

The fishing craze has struck the Westfield White 12 Year Old Summer Travel Baseball Team….Master angler Chris Varano wanted to share some of his insights and recommendations with his fellow teammates:

1.       Gregory’s Pond, Mindowaskin Park and Brightwood Park are his favorite spots
2.       Preferred bait – bread, worms, corn
3.       Tackle – a light weight rod with a bobber and small hook (size 6)
4.       You can get all the equipment you need at Bass Pro http://www.basspro.com/homepage.html
5.       Recommends a lot of patience, bringing a lot to eat and drink and being quiet as not to scare fish (and some good friends)

Weekend of July 17 > given the heat, humidity and upcoming game schedule, Mariano suggests staying away from the local hot spots, getting plenty of rest, drinking a lot of water and bringing your ‘A’ game to Basking Ridge, Summit and the State Tournament

Weather is supposed to cool down early next week, making fish more active and likely to eat….the middle part of the mornings are the best times to fish and bring home dinner to mom
